What is a Structural Dysfunction?

We’re all familiar with normal body temperature: 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. How do we know when someone has abnormal eyesight? How do we know when someone has an irregular heartbeat? How do we know when someone has high blood pressure? The only way to APPRECIATE abnormal is to KNOW normal.

Abnormal structure is no different than you being forced out of alignment or the foundation of your house sinking on one side by just a couple of inches. The structure has shifted, this deviation puts abnormal stress on your muscles, tendons, ligaments, vertebrae and discs forcing them to function in a sub-optimal position.

At first, a minor abnormal deviation of areas of the spine are nothing to worry about. No one has ABSOLUTELY 100% PERFECT alignment. If your structural alignment deviates outside of what is considered a normal range, then you will experience one or more of what we refer to as SECONDARY CONDITIONS.

What are Secondary Conditions?

Many things in our life send off "warning signals" when something is wrong. Many people will fix their "warning signals" only to have them come back later. A secondary condition is simply a condition that is caused by another condition (a primary condition). If the primary condition is never addressed or fixed, the secondary condition will simply come back. You can patch a condition all you want, but if that is not the primary condition you will simply be wasting your time and energy to only experience these problems again and again.

Below are a few secondary conditions that are possibly a result of a primary structural condition:

  • Arm Pain (Upper & Lower)

  • Neck & Back Pain

  • Sciatica & Hip pain

  • Numbness & Tingling

  • Headaches (Including Migraine)

  • Canal Stenosis

  • Muscular Imbalance

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

  • Dizziness/Vertigo

  • Decreased Range of Motion

  • Tendinitis

  • Tennis Elbow

  • Posture Related Issues

  • Strength Related Problem

  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

  • TMJ Problems

  • Shoulder Problems

  • and many more...

What do I need to know before my exam?

We must plan "right" from the beginning!

We at Chiro 4 All Health Center feel before an examination to be performed, we must have a conversation. Our consultation is a friendly conversation between the doctor and the patient. This time allows our doctor to learn and gather information about your health concerns/conditions and for you to determine if we are the best provider for you. After the consultation, you have the option to proceed with a specific examination or schedule for a future date if you desire to do so.

What to expect during my exam?

Your examination will be comprehensive in nature and take approximately 20-40 minutes so we may thoroughly examine your condition(s).

The Examination will include:

  • Correctional Spinal Analysis

  • Orthopedic Examination

  • Neurological Examination

  • Referral for Radiographs (if indicated)

Our examination focuses on digging deeper to understanding the true cause of your condition. After your examination, we will schedule you for a one-on-one conference with our doctor to review and discuss your exam results, your treatment options, how we can help you and a recommended treatment plan if you choose to work with Chiro 4 All Health Center.

What are my treatment options?

There are many options to choose from in the world of health care. We will provide you with evidence based treatment options. It is not our goal to give an opinion to specific chiropractic or non-chiropractic related options. We do not only provide you with chiropractic related treatment options. If we feel you would be best under the care of a different healthcare provider, we will be happy to refer.  Our goal is to give you correct non-biased information so you may make a decision on what is best for YOU.
